Start it with God

“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]” Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP.

Starting the day or anything you choose to do with God is not just a spiritual exercise; it serves as a protective shield against loss or evils of the day. It is a proactive use of divine power to prevent the moral rot that is so rampant in modern society. As we invite God into our ‘things’, we are fortified against both seen and unseen dangers. Personal stories of believers who escaped potential harm or made ethically sound choices under divine guidance underscore the tangible benefits of this practice. They relate feeling an overwhelming sense of peace and security, knowing they are under the constant watch-care of God.

Every day we wake up in the morning we do not know the evil that has been designed to take us down. Some people turn poisonous and unwelcome because they were victims of other people, society, or their surroundings. God acknowledges and understands our sense of evil. Moral evil is possible because God is willing to give us the ability to make our own decisions. Nevertheless, God has always taken action to lessen the toll that suffering and evil exact on people. Furthermore, moral evil is something for which all people are accountable, both individually and collectively. Sometimes our own sins force us to go through pain and evil. At times, the transgressions of others cause us to experience evil and hardships.

Sufficient is the evil in each day. This is not mere coincidences but part of the broader moral challenges we face daily. Most of the time the evil catches up with us, it could be because we chose to involve God in the middle or at the end of our journey. However, in the quiet of dawn, before the world stirs, imagine a force capable of guiding your every step, shielding you from the unseen perils of the day. This isn’t fantasy; it’s the profound reality for those who choose to start everything, even each day with God. Envision a life where each decision, each moment is not just yours alone but shared with the Divine, a life where starting it with God isn’t just a phrase, but a transformative lifestyle.

One best decision you can make each day is to start the day with God. By beginning everything with God, we align ourselves with the ultimate source of strength and wisdom, ensuring that our paths are guided by more than mere human insight. Your daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly decisions are best start with God. Everything starts and ends with Him. Choose fellowship with God daily. Make each day or daily decision appears to God that you cannot do anything without Him. Beginning each day with God sets a tone of humility and dependence. It is acknowledging that we are not the masters of our fate but are constantly under the watchful eyes of a higher power. That marriage planning, that career journey, even your new day, week, month, or year, start it with God.

“Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here” Exo. 33:15 NKJV

Moses himself declares he will not move without God’s presence. This scripture encapsulates the essence of starting our days or plans, and indeed our lives, with God.  The above statement indicates the voice of someone who will never decide before involving God. Who will clearly not start anything without God’s permission and cannot finish anything without His approval. The good news for you, especially if you are about to embark on a project, is that you have a God Who is the Alpha and Omega.

This world was created by God, and He alone will bring it to an end. Put it another way, since He oversees everything in this world, you will live a better life if you follow Him and allow Him to be your guide throughout your life. After all, He is the one in charge. God is aware of future events before they occur. He is aware of hazardous zones and the hidden locations of your blessings.

You must decide to start it all with God. Giving God the first priorities of your life will always remind you to start things with God. It teaches us to lay down our plans at His feet and seek His wisdom for the hours ahead. The spiritual benefits are profound, ranging from enhanced discernment to increased peace, laying a fortified foundation for the day’s challenges. It also means whenever I wake up in the morning or I need to decide what to do, I need to say God I will not do this today unless you start it with me. Starting it with God guarantees you that even if it goes wrong, you can be sure He will not live you messed.

It’s a mistake that you and I make all the times when we choose not to invite God in our daily experiences, or we choose to involve Him when the road begins to get crooked. Oh, am I going to put my faith in my own wisdom, in my own power and resources? Or am I going to trust God to do the battle for me and trust in His power to take me through the journey? You need to know that God wants to go before you and with you in the battle of life.  Incorporating God into daily decision-making transforms ordinary moments into divine appointments. You can experience His presence not just in your everyday life but also in your every moment. You will go through deep waters in your life, but one thing is certain when you go into the water with God you will not drown. You will go through storms in the journey, but God will get you through those storms. Here is the promise of God for us, when we start it with God, our rest is certain.

Weekly Thought:We need to invite Him into the conversations and daily life decisions because yesterday’s victories don’t determine the successes of today. Let’s have a shift in how we use to do it”.

Prayer

Dear God, I thank you for your grace and mercy that give me the opportunity to witness today.      Thank you for every moment you have been with me as a protective shield against loss or evils of the day.
